Best Countryside Locations to Live

People often dream about moving to the country to get away from noisy, cramped cities. Living in the country has even been proven to be better for you. An article in The Guardian states that “Men in rural areas on average can expect to celebrate their 78th birthday – two years longer than those in the city – while women will pass 82, almost a year and a half more than their urban peers”. So it might be time to shed your city mouse persona and head to the country. There are plenty of wonderful places to live that are idyllic and will make your dreams of rural living come true. Here are a few of the best countryside locations to live in.

The Cotswolds: According to the Visit England website there are three words that perfectly describe the Cotswolds, “Leafy. Secluded. Rural”. Anywhere you go in the Cotswolds you will look like a picturesque scene from an oil painting and you half expect a period drama to be filming just around the corner. Finding a place to live in the Cotswold is not has hard as you might think and there is plenty options for as little as £165,000, check out this local estate agent for a large range of houses and prices.

The Yorkshire Dales: This is one of the best places for natural beauty in the UK. There are plenty of ways to explore the Yorkshire Dales including walking, rambling and cycling. One of the best ways to see the Dales is along the famous long distance footpath, the Pennine Way which passes through the area. You can purchase a one bedroom cottage in the area for as little as £120,000, obviously the more you spend the better the views get, have a look at the houses available on from estate agent in the dales.

The New Forest: I think we are starting to see a pattern here, all the best places to live all start with The. Obviously that’s not the reason that these countryside locations are so renowned. In terms of the New Forest it is because of the acres of wonderful forests that have remained untouched since medieval times. Because of this the area is steeped in mystery and romance and will continue to mesmerise no longer how long you have lived there. A 3 bedroom house in the area can be as little as 175,000, of course there is plenty to choose from, just look at the houses available to buy from a New Forest estate agent.

If you want to move to the country then at least you now know there are plenty of places that are available to you, all you have to do is take the time to look.
